20-Year-Old Turns Challenges into a Drive to Save Lives

Wahid Leeman, a 20-year-old overcoming significant early life challenges, is currently pursuing his dream of becoming an emergency medical technician (EMT). Born with health conditions like bipolar disorder, sickle cell anemia, and ADHD due to drug exposure in the womb, Wahid has faced more obstacles than many his age. Despite these challenges, he has not only managed his conditions but also set his sights on a career dedicated to helping others in emergencies. Wahid is enrolled in EMT courses at his local community college and is on track to complete his certification next year. His goal is to join a major fire department, where he can fully utilize his skills to serve and protect his community. Wahid’s journey from a challenging beginning to a future where he aims to make a significant impact on others exemplifies resilience and determination. His story is a powerful reminder of the potential to transform personal trials into life-saving goals.
