2,000-Year-Old Gold Jewelry Found in Kazakhstan

Archaeologists in Kazakhstan have made a groundbreaking discovery in the rural Karaaspan district of Turkistan, uncovering 2,000-year-old gold jewelry from the mysterious Kangju state. Ruling southern Kazakhstan from the 5th century BCE to the 4th century CE, the Kangju’s cultural artifacts have remained largely undiscovered until now. Among the findings in one of the three tombs, which fortunately remained untouched by ancient looters, were exquisite golden earrings, a bronze mirror, arrowheads, beads, and other precious items. This significant find sheds new light on the rich history and craftsmanship of the Kangju culture, providing a priceless glimpse into Central Asia’s ancient past.
