93-Year-Old Teaches Kids the Art of Gardening

In Cambridgeshire, 93-year-old Don Bradshaw is passing on his lifelong gardening expertise to the next generation. Using a community garden opened by the Fenland Association of Community Transport, Don teaches local Year 6 pupils from All Saints Interchurch Academy how to grow their own food. The children recently learned essential gardening skills such as aerating soil, sowing seeds, and planting marigolds under his guidance. Don, a former farmer who has been “working with Mother Nature” since he was six, is amazed and delighted by the keen interest and enthusiasm of the students. His efforts not only educate the youth on sustainable practices but also contribute to local food sharing and waste prevention initiatives.
