Ohio Sisters Raise $30,000 for Honor Flights to Celebrate Veterans

Sisters Tessa and Raya Ziegler from southwestern Ohio are making a remarkable difference for America’s veterans by raising over $30,000 for the Honor Flight Network. The organization provides veterans with the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C., and reflect on the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice. The sisters’ inspiration came after attending an Honor Flight homecoming, where they saw firsthand the impact of these trips.

Tessa age 12, and Raya age 8, were moved by the veterans’ joy and gratitude, prompting them to take action. “I love seeing the veterans and their smiles after they get home,” shared Tessa. Raya added, “I love our veterans because they’re so nice.” Together with their mom, Rachel, the sisters have made it their mission to give veterans the homecoming they never received.

Their efforts honor many Vietnam and Korean War veterans who faced challenges and disrespect upon their return. By supporting the Honor Flights, the Ziegler family ensures these heroes are celebrated and thanked. The emotional reunions, filled with handshakes, tears, and gratitude, show how much their efforts mean to the veterans and their community.
