A Chance Reunion Turns Into a Life-Saving Kidney Donation

A high school prom date from 35 years ago led to an extraordinary act of generosity. After learning of his condition through mutual friends, Hershey, who was already considering organ donation, decided to step forward. Though they weren’t a direct match, they entered a paired kidney exchange program, allowing Moyer to receive a transplant while Hershey’s donation saved another life. The emotional moment was sealed when Moyer shared the news of his successful transplant with Hershey, bringing their connection full circle. Hershey, who recovered quickly, hopes her story inspires others to consider organ donation.
