A Nuclear Breakthrough That Could Change Everything

A Canadian company has developed a groundbreaking technology that could recycle up to 90% of the world’s nuclear waste—dramatically reducing one of the most pressing challenges in clean energy. Called WATSS (Waste to Stable Salt), the process transforms dangerous spent nuclear fuel into usable energy and safer byproducts.

Moltex Energy’s WATSS technology extracts long-lived radioactive elements from nuclear waste and converts them into fuel for next-generation reactors. What remains is sealed into stable salt compounds that are far less hazardous to store. With 400,000 tons of nuclear waste already in storage worldwide, the implications could be game-changing.

Though the system isn’t yet in commercial use, it’s in an advanced stage of development and gaining attention for its potential to revolutionize nuclear waste management. If scaled successfully, it could make nuclear energy cleaner, safer, and far more sustainable than ever before.
