A Paw-sitive Rescue: Hero Dog Alerts Deputy to Owner’s Plight

In a remarkable act of loyalty and quick thinking, Gita, a 13-year-old rescue dog in Washington, saved her 84-year-old owner by alerting a sheriff’s deputy to his fall and injury. The incident unfolded in a secluded area near the Canadian border, where the elderly man had fallen outside his cabin, unable to move and needing medical attention. Gita refused to leave her owner’s side until Deputy Wright, initially trying to coax her into his vehicle, followed her back to the cabin where he discovered the injured man. The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office hailed Gita as a “hero dog” for her determination and bravery in seeking help, ensuring her owner received the urgent care needed.
