Cheers to 64 Years of Friendship at The Old Swanne Inn

Kim Bright, David Day, Brian Wells, John Collins, and Michael Stephens have upheld a cherished tradition for 64 years, gathering every month for a pint at The Old Swanne Inn in Evesham. This ritual began in 1960, shortly after they graduated from Prince Henry’s School, as a way to stay connected beyond their school days. The group, originally convening for a farewell drink, decided to make their meet-ups a permanent fixture, opting for the first Tuesday of every month. Over the decades, members have even traveled from as far as South Africa to maintain this monthly commitment. Now in their 80s, they continue to meet, sharing laughs and memories, cementing their bond as a “band of brothers.” This enduring friendship highlights the extraordinary lengths to which they go to sustain their connection, proving that true friendship knows no bounds. Their story is a testament to the power of camaraderie and the joy of lifelong friends coming together over a simple pint.
