Child Writes NASA Asking For Job And Gets Response

When Jack Davis heard NASA was hiring a Planetary Protection Officer, the fourth grader knew exactly what he had to do. The position pays up to $187,000 annually and involves protecting Earth from alien microbes while preventing contamination of other planets during space missions. Jack sent a handwritten letter explaining why he was perfect for the job, citing his expertise from watching nearly every space and alien movie, his exceptional video game skills, and the fact that his sister thinks he’s an alien.

What happened next stunned Jack’s family and captured hearts across America. NASA’s Planetary Science Division Director Dr. James Green personally responded with an official letter praising Jack’s qualifications and explaining the critical work of protecting our solar system. The space agency didn’t stop there, they followed up with a phone call from their Planetary Research Director to encourage the young applicant to study hard and pursue his dreams. Jack’s father posted the exchange on social media never expecting the overwhelming response, and now the nine-year-old Guardian of the Galaxy enthusiast has become an internet sensation inspiring kids everywhere to reach for the stars.
