Chimp Star Tonka Reunites with Son at Florida Sanctuary

Tonka, the renowned chimpanzee from the Chimp Crazy series, experienced a touching reunion with his long-lost son Cayleb at the Save the Chimps sanctuary in Fort Pierce, Florida. Their reunion, featured in the finale of the HBO docuseries, showcased the pair bonding and grooming each other in their new safe haven. After enduring decades of isolation in unsuitable conditions, both chimps are now thriving in a nurturing environment that includes a 150-acre island habitat. This sanctuary provides them with comprehensive veterinary care, a supportive community of chimpanzees, and the freedom to live out their lives with dignity and peace.
