Community Rallies to Save Baltimore Pizzeria in a Holiday Miracle

A small pizzeria on Light St. in Baltimore, facing closure on Christmas Day, has been given a second chance thanks to a viral pizza review and the generosity of the community. Little Brick Oven Pizzeria, owned by veteran Will Fagg, was struggling to cover costs, including a much-needed liquor license, when renowned Barstool Sports reviewer Dave Portnoy stepped in.

Portnoy’s famous “One Bite” review rated the pizza a “solid 7.9,” showcasing its thin, New York-style appeal. Alongside his glowing review, he shared the shop’s plea for help, capturing the hearts of millions. The video went viral, amassing 14 million views on X, and soon, donations and customers began pouring in.

The once-quiet pizzeria was overflowing with business, with lines stretching out the door and phones ringing nonstop. “We’ve never had a line like this,” Fagg shared, overwhelmed by the outpouring of support.

Portnoy’s review not only brought publicity but also sparked enough community action to help Fagg keep the pizzeria open. Reflecting on the experience, Fagg expressed his gratitude: “It’s overwhelming, and I really thank everybody so much.”

What began as a grim holiday story turned into a heartwarming testament to the power of kindness, community, and one good review. Little Brick Oven’s future now looks as bright as its bustling ovens.
