Denver Firefighters Warm Hearts and Hands with 1,000 Free Coats

As temperatures drop in Denver, local firefighters are stepping up to keep kids warm. Through Operation Warm, Denver Firefighters Local 858 and Teamsters Local 445 teamed up to distribute 1,000 brand-new coats to students in need. Marrama Elementary received 600 coats, while Munroe Elementary students received 400, ensuring that no child faces the winter cold without proper warmth.

The initiative was spearheaded by Denver Firefighter Michael Knect, who grew up in Alaska and understands the importance of staying warm. His passion for helping children inspired him to expand the coat giveaway, growing the program year after year. With millions of children in low-income families lacking winter clothing, this act of kindness brings comfort and protection during the harsh winter months. Thanks to these firefighters, hundreds of kids can focus on learning without the worry of staying warm.
