Sightings poured in, suggesting Athena made a 20-mile round trip during her adventure, but each time her family arrived, they were one step behind.
The suspense came to an end at 2:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve when Athena rang the family’s doorbell, captured on their Ring camera. Her owner, Brooke Comer, was overjoyed to see Athena’s face on the screen. Athena dashed inside, greeted the family, grabbed her ball, and promptly returned to her crate for some much-needed rest.
