DoorDash Drivers Get a Dose of Holiday Cheer with Theatrical Surprise Performances

A group of friends and family, led by Kyle Philippi, has been spreading joy to unsuspecting DoorDash drivers with elaborate, holiday-themed in-home performances. Their latest production featured a choreographed rendition of The Polar Express song, complete with costumes, live music, and confetti cannons. To top it off, each driver receives a $100 tip, making their deliveries a truly unforgettable experience.

The idea stems from Philippi’s own time as an Uber driver, inspiring him to create moments of kindness for hardworking delivery drivers. Over the past year, the group has put on 11 productions, including memorable performances of “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast and “Remember Me” from Coco. With costumes, set designs, and musical rehearsals, the productions are nothing short of theatrical.

Reactions have ranged from disbelief to pure delight, with drivers often expressing how much the generous tips mean to them during the holiday season. One driver shared that the $100 tip allowed her to take a break from DoorDashing for the rest of the week. Philippi and his crew hope to expand their efforts, seeking sponsorships to create bigger and better performances. For now, they’re content knowing their creative acts of kindness are making a difference, one delivery at a time.
