Georgia Woman Defies Odds with Recovery After Devastating Home Explosion

Shelly Harlan, a 62-year-old Georgia resident, is on a path to an astonishing recovery following a severe home explosion that left her with burns on 60% of her body. The incident, which took place in Pickens County, resulted in Harlan being airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital’s specialized burn unit. Despite initially being given only a 5% chance of survival, Harlan’s condition has significantly improved, much to the relief and admiration of her community and colleagues at Annie’s Restaurant. The Pickens County Fire and Rescue team responded swiftly to the scene, noting the extensive damage and ongoing fire caused by the explosion.
