Hero Alerts Owner, Helps Rescue Missing Toddler

A golden retriever named Zoie is being praised as a hero after helping save a missing toddler in her neighborhood. Her owner was gaming at his computer when Zoie, usually calm, began barking urgently at the front window. Curious, he looked outside and spotted a young boy—no older than three—wandering alone into a neighbor’s backyard.

With help from nearby residents, he tried to identify the child, but the toddler remained silent and unrecognized. After calling 911, the dispatcher immediately confirmed a missing child alert in the area and sent officers to the scene within moments. The boy had wandered half a mile from a busy road and had been missing for about 30 minutes. His family was quickly reunited with him, overwhelmed with relief. Police later returned to thank Zoie with extra pets and praise for her life-saving instincts.
