International Crews Join Forces to Combat Los Angeles Wildfires

As wildfires ravage the Los Angeles area, assistance is pouring in from across the U.S. and neighboring countries to support exhausted firefighters battling the flames. Over 14,000 personnel are on the ground, with reinforcements arriving daily.

Mexico has sent over 70 firefighters and disaster relief workers to form handcrews, while Canada has also dispatched teams to aid in the effort. States including Texas, New Mexico, and Washington have joined California crews, alongside an expanded California National Guard deployment of nearly 1,700 servicemembers.

Governor Gavin Newsom expressed gratitude, highlighting the “rapid response and resources” being deployed amid challenging hurricane-force winds. Despite these efforts, Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone reported that local departments are stretched thin.

While the battle is far from over, the growing international and national support reflects a shared determination to confront the crisis.
