LEGO Replay Turns Old Toys into New Opportunities for Kids

LEGO is celebrating five successful years of its Replay program, a groundbreaking initiative that gives old bricks new purpose by redistributing them to children in need. To mark the milestone, children in Boston and Richmond decorated giant LEGO birthday cakes and received sets created from donated bricks, spreading smiles and creativity.

Since its launch, Replay has received over 1.2 million pounds of LEGO bricks, which have been sorted, cleaned, and transformed into nearly 400,000 sets for kids across the U.S. That’s over 300 million individual bricks that have avoided landfills and found renewed life in the hands of children.

The initiative is part of LEGO’s commitment to sustainability and community impact. Replay provides an easy way for families to donate unused LEGO bricks, ensuring they stay “in play” while promoting environmental responsibility. By combining this effort with its use of recycled materials, LEGO is setting a high standard as one of the most sustainable toy companies in the world.

Replay’s success highlights the enduring power of play and the joy that comes from sharing it with others. With every donated brick, LEGO is building not just toys but also connections, memories, and a brighter future for children.
