Lifesaver on Two Wheels: Heroic Driver Saves Cyclist Mid-Heart Attack

Mark Reissig, a triathlete and grandfather from Walworth, New York, credits his life to Molly Ames after she administered crucial CPR during his unexpected heart attack while cycling. Reissig, who was 16 miles into his bike ride, was saved by Ames who noticed his distress and stopped to help, performing CPR for seven minutes until emergency services arrived. Despite no prior heart problems and a long history of extensive cycling, Reissig found himself in cardiac arrest, a situation he survived thanks to Ames’s timely intervention. The incident highlights the vital importance of CPR knowledge and the remarkable difference a passing stranger can make in a life-threatening emergency.
