Man Finds Message In A Bottle On Beach, Guess What It Says

Mike Nicholls discovered an unusual message in a bottle on Woolacombe Beach in Devon, England on November 9th, and when he carefully opened the very distinctive bottle with tweezers, he found something completely unexpected: the ashes of a couple on one last adventure together. Inside the well-sealed bottle was a note asking anyone who found it to return the bottle to the sea and use hashtags to let the family know where it had been found, allowing them to track the couple’s final journey across the ocean waves. Nicholls said the bottle was so well sealed that he possibly was the first person to discover it since it was released, though nobody knows where it originated from or how far it traveled, with speculation ranging from Australia to somewhere just around the corner. After reading the poignant note, the former hospice worker said the moment felt quite touching and meaningful, explaining that it wouldn’t have felt right to keep the bottle because it just didn’t feel appropriate to have the ashes in his home.

Nicholls resealed the bottle and released it again from Ilfracombe Pier as the tide was going out, allowing the couple to continue their eternal adventure across the seas together. He shared photos of the discovery on social media on November 24th hoping to trace the family and let them know their loved ones had made it to Devon’s beautiful coastline, though he had not received a reply and said it would be wonderful to make contact with them. The touching story demonstrates how even in death, love can continue its journey, with the couple’s ashes traveling the world together on the waves just as they likely traveled through life side by side. Nicholls remains fascinated by the discovery and hopeful that someday he’ll connect with the family to share this special chapter of their loved ones’ ongoing voyage.
