Oregon Baby Thrives After Revolutionary Surgery to Combat Rare Brain Disorder

Three-month-old Jackson Williamson from Oregon underwent a transformative surgery to remove half of his brain after suffering from 200 seizures a day due to a rare brain disorder. Despite the severity of his condition, which included hemispheric megalencephaly and heterotopia, the innovative medical intervention at Doernbechers Children’s Hospital in Portland has led to a significant decrease in his seizures.
