Paris Hilton Just Put Her Money Where Her Heart Is

Paris Hilton has spent decades being one of the most recognized faces on the planet, but lately she has been making headlines for something that has nothing to do with fame or fashion. After losing her own Malibu home in the devastating Los Angeles fires and watching countless other women lose not just their houses but also their entire livelihoods, Hilton decided to take meaningful action on a national scale. She launched the Back in Business Recovery Fund, a nationwide initiative designed to put unrestricted cash grants directly into the hands of women who own small businesses and have been hit hard by natural disasters anywhere across the country. Hilton personally kicked off the fund with a $350,000 donation and set an ambitious goal of raising at least one million dollars to get into the hands of women who need it most.

The fund is a partnership between her social impact organization and GoFundMe.org, working through more than 150 women business centers spread across all fifty states to identify the owners who need the most urgent support. When the LA fires struck, an earlier version of this effort delivered grants of up to $25,000 each to 50 business owners, helping child care centers, bakeries, bookshops, dance studios, and salons that had been damaged or destroyed get back on their feet. Those grants helped cover rent, replace lost equipment, and keep employees on payroll while women rebuilt their businesses completely from scratch. Hilton has spoken openly about spending much of her career being underestimated, and she calls this fund one of the things she is most proud of in her life, saying it is living proof of just how much women can accomplish when they truly show up for one another.
