Pioneering AI Test Predicts Parkinson’s Years Before Symptoms Appear

A groundbreaking AI-enhanced finger-prick test is setting new standards in the early detection of Parkinson’s disease. Developed through a collaboration between researchers at University College London and the University Medical Center Goettingen in Germany, this innovative test can predict the onset of Parkinson’s up to seven years before symptoms manifest. By analyzing blood biomarkers with a trained AI model, the test successfully identified the disease in 16 out of 72 at-risk patients, with one case detected seven years in advance.
