She Couldn’t Invite Them All So They Brought Wedding To HER

Brianna Lanoye, principal of Buffalo Academy of Science in New York, kept telling everyone she wished she could invite her entire K through 12 school to her wedding, mentioning it so many times that her school family decided to make it happen in the most unexpected way. Just days before her real wedding, teachers and students secretly organized a surprise ceremony on campus, dressing Lanoye in a makeshift wedding gown and leading her to the courtyard where over 400 students were waiting. Standing before hundreds of students and staff, Lanoye and her fiancé Zach Klapp exchanged vows and candy Ring Pops instead of real rings, with a student even officiating the lighthearted ceremony that was full of laughter and applause. When Lanoye exited the building and saw all the students gathered there, she was completely blown away by the love and effort her school community had put into creating this special moment just for her.

The entire event was filled with teasing and joy, with student Sabahat Uddin joking that the principal couldn’t stop smiling because she loves the kids more than her husband. When asked to confirm or deny that claim, Lanoye laughed and admitted she loves her students more than anything, saying she just hopes they felt as loved as she did in that emotional moment. For Lanoye, the surprise wasn’t just sweet but a reflection of the close bond she’s built with her students and staff over the years as someone who always goes above and beyond for them. The courtyard ceremony complete with happy tears proved that while she couldn’t invite the entire school to her real wedding, she got something even better: a surprise celebration from hundreds of students who wanted to be part of her big day.
