South Carolina Dad Survives Hurricane Tree Collapse, Reunites with Family

David Hamner, a South Carolina father of three, miraculously survived a terrifying ordeal when a tree crashed through his home during Hurricane Helene, pinning him to his bed. Though unable to move under the debris, David’s wife, Sherri, managed to call for help while their children bravely climbed down a branch to safety. After nearly two hours, first responders arrived and freed David from the wreckage. Grateful to be alive, David calls reuniting with his family and telling his kids “Daddy’s okay” the greatest gift he could imagine.
