Teens Lead Successful Campaign for New Burton Latimer Skatepark

Alfie and Jamie, both 13-year-old residents of Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire, are celebrating a monumental victory after their persistent two-year campaign for a new skatepark finally came to fruition. Starting with a grassroots petition that garnered thousands of signatures, the duo presented their case to the local council, leading to the recent opening of the facility at King George V Recreation Ground. This achievement not only replaces the town’s previous skatepark, which was destroyed by arson in 2019, but also provides a safe and vibrant space for local youth to enjoy and express themselves.
