Thanksgiving Miracle: Wife Finds Missing Husband on TV at Distant Shelter

Michael Black, a 91-year-old Wyoming resident with dementia, was miraculously found over 200 miles away from home after his wife, Avril, spotted him on a TV news segment. The footage, which aired during a Thanksgiving feature, showed Michael at a homeless shelter in Salt Lake City where he was partaking in the holiday meal. Avril, 77, described her discovery as leaving her speechless, filled with relief and gratitude. She immediately contacted the shelter, which had been providing care for Michael without knowing his background. The shelter’s staff facilitated a joyful and emotional reunion for the couple. This unexpected sighting on television ended days of anxious searching and uncertainty for Avril, turning a distressing situation into a Thanksgiving to remember. The couple expressed their immense gratitude to the shelter staff and the community for their support and kindness during this challenging time.
