The Motorsport Official Who’s Proving Disability Never Means Inability

Taylor Hill may live with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease that affects her movement, but the 18-year-old motorsport official has never let her condition slow down her dreams or her impact in the Southern African Endurance Series. Behind the scenes at every SAES race, Taylor works tirelessly to ensure events run seamlessly, proving that motorsport success depends not just on drivers behind the wheel, but on dedicated heroes working in every corner of the operation. Her exceptional contributions earned her a Special Award at the 2024 Motorsport South Africa National Awards, recognizing her inspiring influence and growing presence in a field traditionally dominated by different demographics. As Women’s Month concluded, SAES Acting CEO Liyema Letlaka celebrated Taylor as representing “the very best of what Women’s Month stands for—strength, courage, and the power to transform spaces.”

Taylor’s journey demonstrates that a love for motorsport can flourish in countless forms, whether through leadership roles, technical support, or trackside operations that keep the racing world spinning. Looking ahead to the upcoming SAES race at Zwartkops, she continues serving as a powerful role model for young women and girls across South Africa who may have thought certain career paths were closed to them. Her daily presence in motorsport sends a clear message that determination and passion can break down any barrier, no matter how insurmountable it may seem. Through her dedication and expertise, Taylor is actively creating a more inclusive arena where anyone with commitment and hard work can make a meaningful impact in the high-speed world of racing.
