The Woman Who Accidentally Became America’s Favorite Jingle Writer

Romeo Bingham had been quietly building a TikTok following with a mix of comedy, storytelling, and music when a spontaneous idea struck just before the holidays, and they decided to act on it immediately before someone else could. The result was a short, playful video of Romeo singing a jingle they had dreamed up on the spot for Dr Pepper: “Dr Pepper baby, it’s good and nice. Doo doo doo.” In the caption, Romeo cheekily tagged the soda brand and wrote that the two of them could make thousands together. What happened next was the kind of thing most creators only dare to dream about: the video exploded to over 125 million views, Dr Pepper replied that they might be onto something, and within weeks the brand had worked directly with Romeo to turn the jingle into an official national commercial.

That commercial aired during the College Football Playoff National Championship, one of the most watched sporting events of the year, with Romeo’s voice and the now-iconic tune playing front and center for millions of viewers. Romeo, who grew up singing in church choirs and performing in high school musical theater, admits that jingles were never really part of the plan, saying they just did not think people would want to hear them, and had no idea it would become such a big thing. But the momentum did not stop there: Romeo went on to create equally catchy jingles for coconut water brand Vita Coco and car company Hyundai, both of which went viral and led to brand partnerships of their own, including a trip to the Super Bowl courtesy of Vita Coco. Romeo’s TikTok following has since grown from around 100,000 to well over a million, and what started as an impulsive holiday video has quietly turned a jingle writer into one of the most delightful new names in entertainment.
