This Injured Tortoise Just Got The Coolest Wheels Ever

Sheldon the tortoise arrived at Craig View Veterinary Clinic in South Africa after surviving a dog bite that left part of his shell dangerously exposed. The injury meant he couldn’t move around safely without scraping the wound against the ground, but keeping an active tortoise completely still simply wasn’t an option. Dr. Bull, known for his creative problem solving at the clinic, came up with an ingenious solution after treating Sheldon’s wounds.

The resourceful veterinarian built Sheldon a makeshift LEGO skateboard that keeps pressure off the injury while allowing the little tortoise to cruise around as he pleases. The wheeled setup has given Sheldon greater speed than he’s ever experienced before, letting him scoot along freely during his recovery. The clinic shared a heartwarming video of Sheldon gliding on his colorful new wheels, and the clever contraption keeps his exposed shell clear of the ground and dirt. Sheldon is now healing beautifully on his temporary transportation system while his human companions learned how to care for him at home.
