A Donation That’s Changing Everything For Storm Survivors

TransJamaican Highway Limited has stepped up in a massive way to help Hurricane Melissa victims rebuild their lives. The company’s board of directors approved a $100 million donation to provide essential building materials including zinc, lumber, hurricane straps, and nails to more than 2,000 homeowners whose properties were damaged by the devastating storm. Managing Director Ivan Anderson announced that TJH is partnering with one of Jamaica’s largest hardware retailers to ensure assistance reaches affected individuals directly in St Elizabeth and other hard hit parishes.

The company expects to finalize arrangements with government stakeholders soon, with distribution of materials targeted to begin within the next two to three weeks. Beyond the corporate contribution, TJH employees have also launched their own internal relief drive, gathering essential supplies like non perishable food, water, clothing, toiletries, and baby items for those in need. This comprehensive response demonstrates how businesses can become powerful forces for community recovery when disaster strikes. The combination of building materials and basic necessities will help thousands of families start the difficult but hopeful journey of putting their homes and lives back together.
