How High School Employees Became Business Heroes

When the owner of Hudson, Wisconsin’s Urban Olive & Vine was hospitalized for months, most people would have expected the restaurant to close its doors permanently. Instead, something remarkable happened that proved the power of loyalty, determination, and youthful spirit. The teenage employees who worked at the popular eatery made an extraordinary decision, they would step up and keep the business running while their boss focused on recovery.

These young workers took on responsibilities far beyond their usual roles, managing daily operations, serving customers, and maintaining the quality that had made Urban Olive & Vine a community favorite. Month after month, they showed up with dedication that would impress seasoned business owners, ensuring that their employer would have a restaurant to return to when he was healthy again. Their boss later credited them with saving his livelihood, acknowledging that without their incredible commitment, he would no longer have a business. The story of these teenage heroes proves that age doesn’t determine character, and sometimes the youngest among us display the greatest heart when it matters most.
