New Mexico Sanctuary Steps Up to Save Colorado Canines

In Ramah, New Mexico, the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary (WSWS) is spearheading an ambitious fundraising campaign aimed at rescuing 25 wolfdogs from the Indigo Mountain Nature Facility (IMNF) in Colorado, which faces imminent closure following the death of its founder. The campaign seeks to raise $715,000 to not only transfer these unique animals but also to enhance the facilities to better accommodate and welcome the wolfdogs and visitors alike. These funds will also support necessary improvements that ensure a safe and enriching environment for the wolfdogs and two black bears also residing at the IMNF. This effort highlights the WSWS’s commitment to providing sanctuary for animals with wolf and dog ancestry, offering them a chance at a stable and secure future. The story of the wolfdogs has captured the hearts of animal lovers and conservationists, rallying support to safeguard these majestic creatures. As the community and donors come together, there’s renewed hope for these wolfdogs, proving once again the power of collective action in animal conservation.
