Pit Bull Pup Turns Heads with Uniquely Green Coat

In a surprising twist of nature, a family’s pit bull has given birth to a puppy with a green-tinged coat, a rare phenomenon attributed to the presence of biliverdin, a pigment found in the dog’s amniotic fluid. This unusual coloring has inspired the family to name the little pup Fiona, after the beloved green ogre princess from the Shrek movies. Although the green hue is expected to fade within a few weeks, Fiona’s arrival has already brought much joy and curiosity to her family. The phenomenon, while rare, is harmless and occurs when biliverdin leaks into the amniotic fluid surrounding the puppies in the womb. Veterinarians assure that the coloring will gradually decrease as Fiona grows and washes, returning to a more typical pit bull coat. Meanwhile, Fiona’s unique start in life is capturing hearts beyond just her family, as her story spreads across social media, charming dog lovers and Shrek fans alike. This green puppy is proving that being different can be a wonderful thing, especially when it leads to a little extra love and attention.
