This Teen’s Burger King Shift Turned Into a College Fund

Just hours after graduating high school, 18-year-old Mykale Baker clocked in for his shift at Burger King—still wearing his stole and medal. A stranger noticed, shared a heartfelt TikTok, and unknowingly sparked a tidal wave of generosity. Within ten days, a fundraiser titled “From Burger King to a College Dream” exploded past its $60,000 goal, climbing to nearly $130,000 and counting.

The funds will help Mykale pursue trade school after nearly giving up on that dream due to financial hardship. Thousands of strangers donated, sharing messages of hope and encouragement for a young man whose simple act of dedication moved them deeply. The viral moment turned into something bigger: a powerful reminder that hard work still inspires kindness. For Mykale, it means one thing—his future just got a lot brighter.
