Virginia Friends Bring Joy to Community by Repurposing Hundreds of Flower Arrangements

Laura Ruth and Rebecca Shelly, founders of Friendly City Florals, have brought comfort and joy to their Virginia community by transforming over 800 donated flower arrangements into beautiful gifts for hospitals, senior care centers, and more. After experiencing the emotional impact of flowers in their own lives, they saw a way to spread that warmth to others by repurposing blooms from weddings, funerals, and even local gardens. With the help of wedding planners, florists, and local volunteers, they’ve shared vibrant floral creations with more than 27 facilities and countless individuals. Each arrangement, thoughtfully arranged in a donated vase, now brings hope and happiness to people who need it most.
