The Guinness Record That Lit Up The Night Sky

On September 28, nearly 3,000 drones transformed the night sky above Mysuru’s Torchlight Parade Ground into a living canvas, creating a majestic tiger using 2,983 synchronized drones that shattered the previous Guinness World Record of 1,985 drones. The spectacular display organized by Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited doubled last year’s 1,500-drone show, earning Mysuru the official title for “Largest aerial image of a mammal formed by drones” as India’s national animal roared across the heavens. Beyond the record-breaking tiger, audiences witnessed stunning aerial formations of the solar system, ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3, a world map, soldiers, mythological scenes, and Karnataka’s cultural icons including the Ambari elephant, peacock, dolphin, and eagle.

Before the drones took flight, playback singer Kunal Ganjawala entertained crowds with popular Kannada and Hindi songs, setting the perfect mood for the technological marvel that followed. The organizers conducted meticulous trial performances on September 28 and 29 to fine-tune choreography, ensure safety, and adjust lighting and timing for flawless execution. The record-breaking show continues allowing more visitors to witness how tradition and technology blend seamlessly in one of India’s grandest celebrations. As videos and photos flooded social media capturing the pride and joy of this star-studded event, Mysuru reminded the world that ancient traditions grow richer when paired with modern innovation.
